I love how non black poc can laugh along when their parents call black people animals and beasts, but can’t acknowledge how the brand of racism in Zootopia is something that is based off of black oppression. When crack Cocaine was pushed in the ghettos, they targeted black neighborhoods, and that’s pretty much what the movie is about. There are a bunch of little moments in the movie, including when the cop touches the sheep’s hair. You can try to tell me that your people go through that too, bunch ya don’t. You have no problem not sitting next to black folk and telling your children and friends to not interact with black people, but then you go around and try to co-opt the specific struggle that black experience. And while this can be said about Latino and Hispanic people, a lot focuses on black people specifically. Somewhere the movies narrative got fucked up and the sheep became the villain, idk. But a lot that still stands, and is one the major reasons why solidarity between poc won’t exist. You guys can actively participate in anti blackness, but when it comes to acknowledging anti black oppression, ya act like total dumbasses.
This made me laugh so hard OMFG lol
I-it’s a children’s movie that can also be enjoyed by all ages. Not everything is about oppression and racism.
